The Execution Authority Institute is a governance test lab dedicated to understanding the infrastructure of the future.
As execution authority migrates from people to systems, we study how institutions, technology, capital and governance must evolve to preserve accountability,
legitimacy and human oversight. We develop and test practical frameworks that help organisations understand emerging risks before they become crises. Rather
than responding to technological change after it arrives, we seek to identify its governance implications early, producing research, models and tools that
enable leaders, boards, regulators and critical infrastructure operators to navigate an increasingly automated world with confidence.
How We Work

Every framework, doctrine and proposition we publish is treated as a hypothesis rather than a conclusion. We actively search for evidence that strengthens, challenges

We stress-test governance
We simulate future scenarios where execution authority migrates beyond traditional organisational boundaries. This allows us to evaluate how governance frameworks perform
before they are needed in practice.
We observe infrastructure
Our research begins with infrastructure rather than applications. We study compute, energy, data, semiconductors, telecommunications, capital and institutions to understand
the conditions that make new forms of execution possible.

The future of governance cannot be understood through technology alone. Our work draws from governance, economics, finance, systems theory, political science, organisational
design and engineering to develop integrated models for the next generation of institutions.

Our team works at the intersection of governance, technology, infrastructure and capital. Rather than specialising in individual technologies, we focus on the conditions that enable them, the institutions that govern them, and the consequences they create for organisations, markets and society.
As the Institute grows, our expertise will continue to expand across AI, public policy, finance, engineering, organisational design and critical infrastructure. Regardless of discipline, every member shares the same objective: to ensure governance evolves as quickly as execution authority itself.
Mamatsabu Maphike — Founding Researcher
Mamatsabu Maphike is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) is the Founding Researcher of the Institute where she spends her days thinking and redesigning the future of governance.
She has more than 20 years of experience across corporate strategy, governance and institutional development, working with organisations navigating complex regulatory and technological change. All these skills were obtained at differing levels of experience. She has held roles as Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Officer. And has held various Board roles.
